FLOWSTATE (ADJECTIVE):

IN GENERAL, FLOWSTATE REFERS TO a state of deep focus and immersion where everything seems to click effortlessly. It’s like the feeling of being “in the zone,” similar to a “runner’s high” or losing track of time while fully engaged in a creative project or favorite activity.

In flowstate, distractions fade away, and there’s a sense of clarity, control, and enjoyment that makes challenges feel achievable.

FLOWSTATE asl IS an accessible wellness SERVICE that provides vibe (sound) baths, meditation, breathwork, and yoga sessions in asl (american sign lanGuage).

We offer both Deaf-led vibe baths and community wellness events, as well as ASL interpreting for inclusive spaces that want to expand access. Our goal is to make wellness practices not only available, but truly accessible and affirming for Deaf+, hard-of-hearing, and signing communities.

because many traditional practices rely heavily on sound, it’s particularly difficult for Deaf+ & hard-of-hearing participants to effectively enter flowstate— even with interpreters & closed captions. that’s why all flowstate experiences are visual and tactile-first.

The Flowstate app is our next evolution– a vision in progress. It reimagines mental wellness tools through an accessibility lens, designed from the ground up by and for the Deaf+ community. Guided by the tenets of authentic inclusion, universal design, and intersectionality, the app will offer immersive, ASL-centered wellness practices anytime, anywhere.

Flowstate sessions are created by our content experts, who also embody a deep understanding of ASL and Deaf culture, making every session meaningful and accessible.

guided by our Chief ASL Officer, benjamin lewis (gallaudet ‘06, ‘11) on our team, we ensure that classifiers, visual language, and even new signs created for parts of the practice stay rooted in intersectional Deaf culture and ASL linguistics. That way, deaf+ participants can visualize flowstate in their own language.

In addition to our original Deaf-led programming, we partner with inclusive spaces like Yoga Nest Venice to bring ASL access to wellness spaces that have traditionally excluded us. By collaborating with qualified interpreters, we make sure that ASL isn’t just an afterthought– it’s part of the flow.

Our goal is to provide a space where the language of instruction is as intentional and inclusive as the practice itself.

VIBE BATHS at Flowstate ASL are a revolutionary reimagining of traditional sound baths—Deaf-led, vibration-forward, and grounded in Deaf ways of sensing. Guided entirely in (ASL) by Deaf Certified practitioners, these sessions center somatic connection, deep rest, and collective resonance.

We honor that “sound” has often been hearing-centered– but sound is vibration, and vibration is universal. Our vibe baths use resonant instruments, intentional space-holding, and accessible modalities to create an immersive experience where you don’t just hear, you feel.

Flowstate meditation sessions guide you through mindfulness practices designed to quiet your mind and restore balance. Led entirely in ASL, these sessions create a visual, relaxing experience. Whether you’re looking to find calm in a chaotic world, ground yourself in the present moment, or explore mindfulness for the first time, Flowstate meditation offers a space where you can breathe, reset, and connect—all in a way that feels natural and accessible.

Flowstate breathwork sessions guide you through accessible techniques in ASL to help you reconnect with your breath and your body. Whether you’re looking to calm your mind, boost energy, or release emotional tension, our breathwork is designed to meet you where you are, using sign language and haptic cues for a fully immersive experience.
BREATHWORK IS PERFECT FOR: STRESS, ANXIETY, FATIGUE, OVERWHELM, emotional release, focus, low energy, physical tension, mindfulness, and grounding yourself in the present moment.
Flowstate yoga brings movement, mindfulness, and breath together in accessible sessions led entirely in ASL. Designed Deaf first, our classes focus on helping you find balance, flexibility, and strength while supporting your mental well-being. With clear ASL instruction, Flowstate yoga creates a space where you can move at your own pace and feel fully supported.
